This is one of these times you really wish life DIDN’T imitate art. My heart goes out to Ed and his wife – the decisions they will have had to make, the emotions, the fear.
This is the main theme of my debut novel, and it feels a little surreal to read this just a day after my announcement, but it shows that this is a dilemma that has been faced, mostly in secret, by far too many women. Opening up and having these conversations publicly helps to heal those who have suffered in silence. Makes them feel less alone.
My heart breaks for them – and I hope that the medical issues are now under control. Pregnancy isn’t all happiness and glowing for everyone – sometimes it can be the hardest thing you will ever face.
